gratitude, day 8

A very timely blessing today.

(That’s cat food, by the way, not people food. Though I am doing GAPS so I suppose my diet looks about as exciting.)

Through a series of unforseen mishaps ranging from human error to natural disasters, the cats ran out of food this week. Or at least they would have if I hadn’t immediately implemented strict rationing that stretched out their meals for a full week longer than they should have lasted, and supplemented as I could. Things we learned this week: their diet is surprisingly hard to substitute on the fly.

Believe me, the day I tried to offer chicken necks as a replacement meal, the household mood took a very somber turn.

But I’m grateful today for two very tolerant cats, a prompt FedEx delivery, and one great food company. The girls are fed. The freezer is full. Harmony has been restored.
