it’s stay-cation time!

Four weeks from tomorrow and we’ll be on our way to London. On Friday our passports, along with their Tanzanian visas, arrived safely home. Next week Stephen and I are going to the travel clinic for his shots and our anti-malarial meds. I’m buying a new point and shoot for the trip, and I’ve ordered some new glasses. All I really need to do now is buy clothes and pack. I talked to my friend Kayla yesterday; she’s getting married in three weeks and has a WHOLE lot on her plate, so in the grand scheme of things, I certainly don’t have much to complain about.

In other news: we’ve got the week off as a family, and there will be much partying and barbecuing. Spring has segued into summer and the world is absolutely lovely.

  1. No, I decided to leave the D40 at home for a few reasons: it’s not a very discreet size, it’s really sensitive to dust, and a point and shoot can take video (which I really want to be able to do). The FX150 is probably the best compact available on our budget, and this way I’ll feel a lot more comfortable letting my brother take the camera for awhile.

  2. That makes sense, I wouldn’t want to spend time worried about my camera- it detracts from the experience. And video, you’re right, is a must. =)

    I thumbs up your decision.
