I’ve been awake for over 26 hours…and yet I still find time to blog (priorities, people)

I watched the latest BSG episode twice. I still can’t believe that this amazing show is almost over. *sniff* Guess I’ll just have to watch it all over again…

Went to see Watchmen this afternoon with Stephen. I really, really loved it, but then again, I am a die-hard fan of the novel. I can’t really imagine appreciating it fully without having first read the book, to be honest. And Rorschach was just…amazing. Seriously.

Then we came home and Hannah decided that we should watch Homeward Bound. I never really cry during movies, but this one is a guaranteed tear jerker and I’m PMS-ing this week so I just about lost it during that final scene. Lordy. That movie gets me every. single. time.

In not-movie-related things, I’m about halfway through Witches Abroad. I think I want Nanny Ogg to be my grandmother.

Yesterday I took a two-mile walk in a long sleeved tee. Today it snowed. March: comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, and in between goes through some weird kind of split-personality disorder.

I need to get to bed. Stephen and I are leaving for Boston around 2:30 tomorrow for the Flogging Molly concert. It’s going to be pretty rockin’.

discombobulated

“I haven’t been updating my blog every day.”

“I know,” said Mom, settling me with a half-serious look. “I’ve noticed.”

It was kind of an upside down week. On Monday, Dad and I ordered new netbooks, and the next three days were a whirlwind of moving files and running new lines in the kids’ rooms. Stephen inherited the family computer, Hannah inherited mine, and Mom now has Dad’s old laptop (which, along with her iPod and new digital camera, is ushering her nicely into the 21st Century…kidding, Mom). Moving the desktop computer out of my room managed to turn everything upside down, and I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time feeling peaceful when my space is in chaos.

As if that wasn’t enough, my hormones are in their monthly state of flux, and when I got home from work today the very first words out of Dad’s mouth were, “Are you off your PMS roller coaster yet?” This was in response to my latest Twitter posting, so I suppose it was fair game, but it was pretty much the last thing I wanted to hear after a long night at work. A little while later, I gave Dad a hug and apologized for my snappy response to his query.

“That’s okay,” he said. “I guess I got my answer anyway.”

And that, my friends, was my week. Stephen and I are planning to see The Watchmen this afternoon, and tomorrow we’ll be in Boston at a Flogging Molly concert. If the sun decides to come out sometime soon, then this week might just be a lot more promising.
