Also known in our house as ‘homeschool history-in-action’ day. We had spent Monday reading about Civil Rights and learning about Martin Luther King Jr., which made Tuesday’s ceremony all the more poignant. Hannah and I curled up on the couch and watched the whole thing, knowing that it was a beautiful moment for our country.
Though we didn’t watch any of the later celebration, today Jo posted the video of the Obama’s first dance, and my heart swelled all over again. I must just be in a mushy sweet mood lately: during the musical interlude before Obama’s swearing in, Michelle reached forward and gave him a little squeeze on the shoulder. Hannah and I rewound the coverage so that we could see it again. We’re completely hopeless.
