It was my birthday yesterday. I’m 24 now, which for some reason feels much older than 23, like I am now firmly entrenched in adulthood. Sometimes I still forget that I graduated from college this year. Whoa.

So I’m just bee-bopping around the house today, cleaning my room and hoping that the snow won’t keep friends from coming over for a visit later. I don’t imagine I’ll stay too late tonight, just long enough to ring in the new year. And after that I’ll collapse unconscious into my bed because it’ll be way past my bedtime (see? I am soooo old now).

2008: the good, the bad, and the downright weird
The Year in Photographs: parts 1, 2 and 3
And, from the New York Times, the Year in Ideas. My favorite: Minicattle. How cute are they?

OK – I am a little weirded out that you are 24, Steven is 17, and Hannah is 14. Gosh the years fly by, my recent post notwithstanding.
I also see you are hooked on Dr. Who. I am, too. I am a little nervous, however, that it ended with the most recent season (4th, I think.)
I knitted a scarf once. It was 6 feet long. My mom just knitted 6 sweaters as Christmas presents for the grandchildren and the sister-in-law.
Em, I hope your 2009 rocks, and that you figure out “what to do with your life.” As if any of us ever do.
Love to you and the fam.
Thanks for posting those pictures of 2008, Chris and I sat and looked at each one. Such AMAZING photography. I hope you can do what those photographers do, travel the world and capture real moments. :)
