Interesting. Did I say interesting? ‘Cause it was interesting.

Actually, it was fairly good as birthday’s go. It snowed early this morning, covering everything with a fine white dust, but the sky was clear and blue all day (I may have put ELO’s Mr. Blue Sky on repeat. Many times over.)

I got some really great gifts from my family, all of which were presented in a gorgeous hand-woven basket from the Blessing Basket Project. From my sister, The Daily Coyote. I’ve been following Shreve’s blog almost since the beginning and I am just sooo happy to finally have a hardcopy of the book. From my brother, I got a case for the new iPod and a travel clock that tells the time, the temperature, and doubles as a flashlight. Le cool.

My parents also gave me a couple books: The Gurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Society and 100 Years of Solitude. My reading needs are all set for the forseeable future, I think. And then…omg…my brain might actually explode…

I have two tickets to see Flogging Molly this March in Boston.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh…………

Okay…I’m better now.

And all of that really makes up for the fact that I got into a fender bender in the Ninety-Nine parking lot, because some guy drove right into my car even as I had the right of way. And we had to sit and wait for the police. And we were so late getting to dinner that we missed the movie.

And that’s all okay. Because it’s my birthday, and for twenty-four years now I have been a part of the best family I could ever ask for. It’s all good.

  1. I’ve only skimmed through it so far, but it looks really good. More of Charlie’s story and what life is like in their little corner of Wyoming. Plus, lots of pictures :-)
