riding lessons, week two

Hannah rode a different horse during her lesson this week, a beautiful and extremely rare American Indian horse named Adriana. She’s a lot bigger than Gary, and a bit feistier too.

She’s earned the affectionate nickname, “Adriana the ADD Horse”. To say she’s a bit easily distracted would be an understatement. During the lesson she stopped repeatedly to chew grass, to sniff the fence post, to watch a bird and to nibble on the plastic barrels in the middle of the arena.

Speaking of easily distracted, did I mention I love horse noses? ‘Cause I do, I really do…

yeah, so I really love horse noses...

    Lol! How endearing!

I petted a horse’s nose for the first time not so long ago and it’s so amazingly velvety!

  2. Horses are funny animals. They will do exactly what you allow them to get away with, and laziness/inattentiveness is just as disobedient as running off with a rider, though perhaps not as dangerous. ;) Horses like Adriana are particularly good for kids, IMO!

Pretty girl… I’m SUCH a sucker for bays with stripes. Srsly.
