this is it
I am dreadlocking my hair today.

It was love at first sight. And second, and third, and after that I lost count. That’s about how many times I watched it this weekend. I just love this movie.
Which probably gives some insight into my brain because it is a very, very quirky little film. From reviewers the most common statement is that it’s “a movie for Wes Anderson fans”. I didn’t realize I was a Wes Anderson fan until now, though I guess this makes me one. I’ve managed to miss his other famously curious creations like The Royal Tenenbaums or The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. But still, this movie sucked me right in…
I love the details and the nuance. The dialog is great, but often the lack of dialog is even better. One fantastic scene allows the story to be told just by looking into the actor’s eyes (and let me tell you, I could stare into Adrian Brody’s eyes any day). I love the colors, I love the music, I love almost each and every frame.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Let me think about that. I’ll tell you the next time I see you.”
