O Immortal Lord, You have bound hell, slain death, and raised the world: therefore the children, carrying palms, sing praise to you as Victor, O Christ, and they cry aloud to You this day: Hosanna to the Son of David!

a few of the many random thoughts regarding this week’s BSG
(watch the full episode on SciFi.com)
- Why on earth (get it? *nudge*nudge*) would they assign Gaeta to the Demetrius when it is so obvious that he currently loathes Starbuck and would do anything to undermine her? Definitely lost some points for use of such an obvious plot device.
- And speaking of Ms. I-Wanna-Frak Starbuck, you just knew they’d have to stick a sex scene somewhere in the episode. Oh BSG, you never fail…
- And speaking of ‘frak’ – don’t get me wrong, I love saying it as much as the next girl - but ‘cluster-frak’? Really? Because that doesn’t even work, alliteration-wise. I swear, the instant someone says ‘metric frak-ton’, I’m out.
- Helo = yum. Any questions?
uno, dos, tres, catorce!
Being the brave person that I am, on Friday night I took Hannah to the mall for a 14th birthday shopping trip with her BFF, a kid who answers the phone with “Nuclear Al-Qaeda!” in the hopes that the government will listen in.
Together they are quite the pair.
Hannah bought some skinny jeans and a pair of skater shoes, and still set aside enough money to buy a new Breyer horse. It’s such a strange thing to be right on the border between childhood and womanhood.
Stephen bought her an autographed photo of Adam Rodriguez, by far her favorite gift, perhaps of all time. I had similar crushes at her age, but was far too shy about them to ever share with another person. I love that she has no such reluctance.
She thinks that 14 is going to be a great year. I think so too.
apologies for the dormant posting
I’m in the last couple weeks of my undergraduate career and am being stretched just a weeeeee bit thin.
Rex had a visit with Dr. G on Friday. He had a little build-up in his ear that I was concerned about – turned out to be just wax. But he had a slightly sniffly nose, too, so Dr. G prescribed antibiotics.
My poor little old man.
Rex’s skin really isn’t getting any better, even with multiple treatments with Revolution. It’s still scaly and flaking, and his fur continues to grow in and fall right out. He had his third or fourth skin scrape that yet again came back clean. That, in addition to the clean fungal culture and normal blood panel, adds up to a great big Who The Heck Knows?
If Rex isn’t improved by his next visit on the 29th, then I think it will be another blood test (specifically, checking thyroid function) and perhaps a biopsy.
The good news? Rex has gained weight, so at least I know that something we’re doing is working.
