Christ is Risen!

Dad attempted to wake me up this morning with a hearty Christos Anesti! Having crawled into bed not five hours before after a very long and wonderful Pascha service I was, perhaps, a little less than enthusiastic.

I climbed out of bed just as the rest of the family was leaving for their church.

“You know,” I heard Dad say, “There’s this boy at church who’s totally cute, and he thinks Hannah’s great because she dresses ‘emo’ and listens to the same bands.”

“Wait -” Hannah interjected, “Who?

Instead, Dad turned to me. “Happy Easter! See you when we get home for meat.” Pascha just so happens to coincide with Dad’s birthday this year, and we’re celebrating with BBQ ribs.

“C’mon Dad,” Hannah insisted, “You have to tell me who this is.”

“Aaaaand,” I heard Dad say as they walked out the door, “His mom just took him to a big ‘emo’ concert…”

Indeed He is risen! Let us glorify His third-day resurrection!

My father did that to me too, except over the phone. He got upset because, after only three or four hours of sleep (I’m not sure what time it was), I was not happy to answer the phone.
