“The Best of Buddies”

The following is an excerpt from the Leith Petwerks BunFun newsletter. Petwerks is a wonderful online supplier for all things rabbity, and their newsletter is almost always a worthwhile read. This month’s included a story from Sr. Beatrice Valot about the two rabbits that shared life with the sisters in their spiritual community:
I miss both of ‘my boys’ tremendously as they were truly God’s precious little creatures, signs of His unconditional love for us. What joy, peace, and tranquility they both brought into not only our lives but into the lives of the many people who came to our house, young and old alike.
For the past 12 years, rabbits have been part of ‘our religious family’ and especially dear to me. In due time, I am hoping and praying to again have the joy of having 2 rabbits or at least another rabbit, as part of my life and that of others who also love them…to be signs of God’s love and faithfulness, His compassion and understanding, His gentleness and patience…in a word, a tangible source of spirituality.
Animals can truly be a blessing, and I hope that you and your pets are all doing well this week.

p.s. I am also pleased to share that 1) Rex’s fungal culture came back clean, and 2) his fur is all grown back and looking as beautiful as ever.
my apologies

If I go incommunicado.
This is my last semester of undergraduate work, and I have become (obviously) quite preoccupied with my schoolwork. For the sake of my sanity and the time I have to devote to the animals, I think you’ll understand why I’ll be spending even less time online.
Graduation is only 2 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day away…
Rex update (addendum to ‘Oy’)

The two week check-up is, thankfully, not a particularly critical visit. The results of the fungal culture won’t be in for another two weeks, and at this point Dr. G will have recieved only scant preliminary findings. In that respect, I don’t feel beside myself over not setting the appointment.
Part of the reason why I flaked so totally is that this semester is already becoming an all-consuming part of my life, and most of the time I’m left wondering where the past week went. I didn’t set the follow-up appointment at the last visit because I just never know what my days are going to be like; already this week is shaping up to be a doozy. I may end up calling the office, explaining the situation, and asking if Dr. G would be okay with holding off on a visit until the results are in.
The good news in all of this: Rex’s fur is really starting to improve. He has just a few small bald patches, and the fur that’s grown back is thick and shiny. So after all of this…we may not even need that fungal culture.
What’s a gal to do?
I was supposed to call and make Rex’s appointment for next week. Nothing major, just a two week check-in with Dr. G.
I completely forgot.
Now what should I do?
