I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.
But here’s a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: “Ah, there’s so and so…they listen in rapture to the love-music of she-turnips.” I might feel compelled to mock your musical taste, but I’ll certainly remember you.
It would be great if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Hmm. I used to be a volunteer EMT and firefighter, when I was about your age. Fun times! Though now I can barely pull myself together to deal with minor first aid situations, and I can’t ever remember what to do. I probably couldn’t pass basic red cross first aid right now! I really should have kept my cert up.
I am addicted to yarn. I knit and crochet compulsively, and I’m going to learn how to spin very soon. I’m going so far as to knit my own wedding veil.
I plan to be a midwife someday, and I geek out about mothers and babies.
I used to be a Nuclear Machinist Mate in the Navy, but I was discharged for medical reasons before going to sea. I play fingerstyle guitar and I wish I played like Don Ross (see youtube).
* I was raised a Quaker.
* I can swim really fast.
* I have very funny looking toes.
* When I was 9 I broke my arm roller skating down a hill.
* I’m named after my great grandmothers.
*icon love!*
I have a bumper sticker on my van that reads, “Midwives help people out.”
Right now I’m a homeschooling, home-birthing, work-at-home, mother of 2 (with dreams of many, many more!), who writes advertising and marketing copy for a living. Perhaps when my kids are all grown up, I’ll have the time to be a midwife.
Okay. I have this thing where I’m obsessed with something or someone for a very short period of time and then it peters off. Case in point, Jeff Goldblum, Val Kilmer, and Back to the Future. Just from this summer into fall.
There are exceptions to the rule, namely *NSYNC, dcTalk/tobymac, Will Smith, RENT, and Jurassic Park, but for the most part, if I’m all gaga over something, wait a couple months, and I’ll be over it.
Christmas Day, we all used to get a book in our stocking or as our first present. That afternoon, we’d all sit in the living room reading together. We’re a strange family.
I want to write for a living. I also want to work as a doctor somewhere international. I have no idea how the two of those will coexist – or how I’ll accomplish either.
I uh….um…I apperently am suprisingly transparent.
I dont know which things I’ve mentioned before in surveys that you’ve seen or what not, so here is a few things:
-i have no sense of smell
-i love the beatles
-i got married at 19
-i have 6 pets
-it took me 5 years to get an associates degree
-i frequently get migraines, however i recently started a prevention medication for it, and its helping greatly
-i just got sucked into harry potter in the last few months
I have a red, blotchy birthmark on my right arm that looks like a girl with pigtails in the mirror.
I own more band shirts than non-band shirts.
I am mad about birds, and I have two pet cockatiels, a budgie and a ringneck parrot.
