driving along in our automobile

“You hear that rattling noise. That’s not good.”

“Sounds like the motor is just resting in there against the bolts.”

“It’s rusting?”

“Did he say the motor was rusting?”

“No, I think he said the bolts were rusting.”

“Of course they’re not rusting. But we’ll just let him think whatever he wants to think because it’s his birthday.”

“I said resting, not rusting!”

“What’s resting?”

“The bolts?”

“No the bolts are rusting. He said the motor is resting.”

“Against the bolts?”

“Right, the bolts that are rusting.”

“So the motor is resting on rusting bolts.”

“That’s not what I said!”

“He’s crazy. The bolts aren’t rusting…”

  1. you have inspired the following tongue twisting type of poem:

    resting on rusty bolts.
    resting not rusting,
    resting on rusty bolts.
    is the motor resting?
    are the bolts rusting?
    resting on rusting bolts?
