I know part of it (okay, most of it) is because I am a paranoid pet owner and have to double and triple check to make sure my family knows what to do in my absence. The chances of something bad happening are likely slim to none, but rationality has nothing on a worried mommy brain.
I’m trying to decide if I should shower now, or go to bed for three hours and shower when I get up. I know that’s not much sleep, but something tells me I’ll be able to catch up during the drive to Montreal. In our RV.
It’s funny – for all the trips I’ve been on, I plan and I pack and I prepare to the nth degree (I’ve practically made compact travel an art form). But I never really think about the destination until I’m actually there. As in, Holy crap, am I really in ______ (Africa, Romania, Constantinople, et all)?!
So the realization that I will be spending three weeks away from home probably won’t fully hit me until we set up camp tomorrow. Until then, I’m just going to enjoy the ride…
Packing is completed.
My desk is clean *pause for dramatic effect* and my clothes for tomorrow are folded neatly.
We’ve been watching Harry Potter movies all day.
And today I realized that we’ll be in Montreal the day before we head home, and Deathly Hallows will be out in stores, and I am unbelievably tempted to buy it and read it on the ride home despite the fact that I have already pre-ordered a copy. Heck, I can always sell one of them…
Still on my list of things to do:
