home again
Jul 29th, 2007 Posted in field school, travel | Comments OffThree weeks. In an RV. In Northern Canada.
I had an absolutely fantabulous time, but hooh boy….I am glad to be home.
In a way it was anticlimactic, but it was also oddly comforting to come home to a power outtage. No TV or computers, just a campfire and candles. We sat and talked and when Mom and Dad went to bed, the kids and I took a moonlight swim in the pool. I floated on my back for awhile, hearing only the sound of my breathing, and seeing only the stars and treetops.
Then Hannah and I snuggled in her bed, waking up this morning to a home with electricity and internet access. There are photos and stories, but if you’ll excuse me, I have a pile of dirty laundry to wash and a certain J.K. Rowling book to dive into…
it may take me awhile…

But I am back, and yes, it was awesome.
and we’re off…

(*Of course, I get back on the 28th, but I don’t know how up I’ll be for hopping online right away)
