a divine sense of timing

The past few mornings I have been doing morning prayers, writing in my prayer journal and going through the assigned lectionary readings. I’ve felt really encouraged and much more at peace with where I am.

Then this afternoon I received an unexpected package from a girl I met at the retreat last September.  Given my spiritual angst of late it couldn’t have come at a better time: Daily Lives, Miracles, and Wisdom of the Saints (and Fasting Calendar). It’s a spiral bound book with short stories and quotes, and it has just made my week :-)

I’d post a photo, only I haven’t called Dell technical support yet because I’ve been too busy enjoying life. Oh the joy that is summer vacation.

The piercing experience itself was wonderful. The, uh, piercer was very nice and explained everything in detail. Hannah asked me afterward if it hurt. Yes. Yes it did. It felt like a hollow needle being shoved through my earlobe (can’t imagine why…)

But the pain is gone and, if I do say so myself, the earrings look great. Hannah told me, “I feel like you’ve had them all along.” Good enough for me. Stephen got his left lobe pierced and he looks HAWT. Seriously.

I also picked out my new glasses frames, though they won’t be here for a week or so. This is the model, only my frames are a dark cobalt-y blue with yellow accents. Tres chic.

And, yes, I look oh-so-good in them.
