Well, those bummy buns are messy. Do yours like the wooden chew toys? What toys do you usually get for them? Ours plays a little with his bell thing with wood block on the side of the cage, but his favorite is a carrot shaped thing, But they are quite pricey. We do stick paper towel tubes to the side of his cage with wooden clothes pins. He seems to like them up so he can chew them easier. Ours is also a notorious carpet chewer, so we can’t leave him out in a pen like yours (pictured) for very long.
They like to chew on paper towel rolls, untreated wicker (baskets, wreaths, etc.) and woven grass mats (Pier One sells them for pretty cheap). And as you can also see, Peanut likes to shred newspaper.
Rex likes tossing things around, like a set of baby toy keys, or a little wooden dumbell. But Rex is nearly 7, and Peanut is 5 1/2, so they’ve calmed down considerably, and don’t spend as much time playing as they used to.
