lagomorph love

I can’t tell you how much I love starting off my day by having some one-on-one with the fuzzbutts. Both the bunnies were binky-ing around my room like mad; Peanut does these wild leaps and kicks out in every direction, while Rex’s are more controlled. But Rex also likes to do his Bunny 500′s, the little speed demon.

When they weren’t expending their spastic energy, the two bunsters were getting as much affection as they could. Peanut will melt for an ear massage, and Rex purrs and purrs if given a nose rub. Peanut also gave me a rather tickly kiss on the nose.

I love my bunnies.

So I’m sitting here, scanning the forums and checking my e-mail, when I hear the kitchen door slam and Stephen yells, “There’s wild hogs in our backyard!”

Yes, there were four pigs digging up our yard (and rifling through our garbage). No, they weren’t wild, they escaped from a pen up the street. After we drove up there to let the owner know, it took him and a friend nearly an hour to wrangle the pigs back home.

Oh the joys of rural living.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this kid?

I love her zaniness. I love the fact that she’s an individual. I love her sense of humor.

I love how she speaks her mind. How she expresses herself, not just verbally (though she’s quite gifted), but also through her art.  I love her art.

I love how sensitive she can be. I so enjoy those moments of quiet reflection, followed by an unusually deep thought (at least, for an 11 year old ).

I love how she interacts with people of all ages. I love how she loves babies. And animals.

I love how she is becoming a strong and mature young woman. Our relationship is changing, but it is becoming stronger. I love watching her grow up.

I love my sister. I love…

Hannah.

Rubber boots

The cat was peeing in the closet because of the rubber boots.

Nevermind the enzymatic cleaner, nevermind the Lysol. Once we took the boots away, she stopped. I don’t know if there was something on the boots, or what, but Scully was definately peeing on and around them for a reason.

She has not peed in that closet one time since we took the boots away, and it’s been well over two days.

Freakish cat…
