This is it. In less than 12 hours I’ll be on a plane to D.C. to meet the other members of the Young Life Africa team. After spending a few days just getting to know each other, we will be flying to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Our team (16 people, including myself) will spend one week putting on three different camps for high-school aged kids, and the next week we will be spending time in orphanages. We will be giving away clothes, shoes, toys, and soccer balls, in one of the world’s poorest countries. It will not be easy, but it will be rewarding.
I may or may not be able to update while in Ethiopia. If, by some chance, I am able to send out an e-mail to family and friends, I will try and see if that update can be posted here. Otherwise, you’ll hear from me when I get back.
Please pray for the members of our team, not only for our physical safety, but also our hearts, minds, and spirits. Pray also that we would be effective witnesses for Christ’s love to the poor, the sick, and the orphaned.
